When the texts displays God anger mercy is still shown when God executes HIS wrath. So that forces no excuse upon man to lose total control in anger or any emotion for that matter.

But we are not God nor can we imitate him in any way. We are almost expected to lose control in anger, in love, in lust, even in sadness. Everyone has a button an when its pushed mans first thought is not mercy, that’s why we ask God for it.
We are intended to mirror God because we were made in HIS likeness. According to the text we are told that we can overcome these actions that are hard to control. Am I saying I have it all together? Not at all. But we can conquer them. We are intended to treat other humans in the manner that God treats us.

This is very true. Many times people try to blame their actions on being upset or angry but there really is no excuse.
If we are made in HIS likeness we are to reflect HIS actions that are left on record. We need to be mindful of our actions.
